Centro de Biología Molecular 'Severo Ochoa' (CBM)

The CBM promotes biomedical and biotechnological research in Spain, significantly contributing towards the training of numerous young researchers who are writing their doctoral theses in the centre.

National Centre for Biotechnology (CNB)

The CNB carries out research activities by combining molecular biology techniques with the latest technologies. One of the CNB’s most important assets resides in its platform of scientific-technical services that offers cutting-edge technology in the fields of structural and cell biology, models of genetically modified organisms, genomics and proteomics, as well as emerging areas of computational biology and synthetic biology.

Alberto Sols Biomedical Research Institute (IIBM)

The IIBM is an institute specialising in biomedicine that addresses strategies related to the research of different pathologies, starting with the study of their origin, development and evolution mechanisms and ending with the study of prevalent and rare diseases. The IIBM collaborates with companies of the biotechnology sector in proof of concepts and short run prototyping.


Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda (IDISPHISA)

IDIPHISA was established with the mission to develop biomedical research activities in conditions of quality and excellence, to be able to transfer results aimed towards solving the population’s health problems.

It offers its researchers facilities and technical support units that provide technological support of quality in essential areas of biomedical research. Included among them is the Biostatistics Unit, which performs data analysis then disseminates the results.

Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Fundación Jiménez Díaz (IIS-FJD)

The Fundación Jiménez Díaz Health Research Institute is a non-profit entity constituted by the Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital and the UAM. It has an extensive track record of commitment to research and teaching, apart from its clinical and healthcare activity. Its goal is to drive, promote and foster research of excellence, scientific and technological knowledge, teaching and training in the Hospital, as well as make it easier to transfer advances in research and innovation to healthcare practice as efficiently as possible.

Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria del Hospital Universitario de La Princesa (IIS Princesa)

The Research Institute at Hospital de La Princesa was formed by virtue of an agreement signed between health centres of the Health Department of the Autonomous Community of Madrid and other basic research institutions, including the UAM.
The purpose of the IIS Princesa is to conduct medical research so as to improve patients’ quality of life and produce innovative results for society.

The Madrid Institute of Advanced Studies of Food Science and Technology, and Health (IMDEA- Food)

IMDEA-Food studies the relationship between genes and nutrients, placing special emphasis on preventing and treating chronic diseases through food.
Given the molecular grounds of its work, the basis of the research capacities is made up of digital and data technologies (computational biology, bioinformatics and data analysis) and genomics.

Madrid Institute of Advanced Studies in Nanoscience (IMDEA-Nanociencia)

IMDEA-Nanociencia was established as a interdisciplinary research centre devoted to exploring basic nanoscience and developing nanotechnology applications related to innovative industries.

Alcobendas HUB

Alcobendas HUB provides 360-degree services to attract and consolidate investment in the town of Alcobendas. Driven by Alcobendas Town Council, framed within the Fundación Ciudad de Alcobendas, in collaboration with Alcobendas Business Association (AICA), it benefits from the contributions and involvement of large companies from all social, educational, sports and cultural sectors. Besides the partner-promoters, the consortium is supported by the following types of entities:

Collaborating entity

They state their interest in placing their capacities, services and resources at the consortium’s disposal. These entities sign an agreement or letter of intent aligned with the consortium’s goals, which specify the capacities they provide.

Institutional entity

They fully support the consortium from a strategic perspective in order to define the roadmap. They show their alignment with the DIH by way of a letter that explains their strategy and intention to back it with the legal instruments they have available.

Autonomous Community of Madrid

The Government of the Autonomous Community of Madrid is the organised body that directs the policy of the Community. It fulfils the executive and administrative functions, and also acts as the regulatory agency in matters not reserved in this Statute of the Madrid Assembly. Its office is in the Royal Post Office building, in Puerta del Sol.

Madrid City Council has been working on boosting local economic activity by supporting the development of entrepreneurial projects of a technological nature, as well as offering diverse financial support mechanisms. In addition, it offers the possibility to access resources and facilities, from where it works to accompany promoters of new business initiatives of an innovative nature.

Interested entity

By way of a letter, they acknowledge the importance of the initiative and their support of the DIH. Interested entitites have no acquired rights and by means of a letter they simply transmit their intention to provide support and stress that the need of the DIH is highly relevant.
